For almost thirty years I have known one side of my mother country. I was able to visit the other side approximately ten years ago, when movement was allowed. Since then, with the click of my camera, black and white moments freeze. Everyday life is recorded as a document, a call to erase partition and devastation represented by flags and symbols. A selection from these series of photographs composes the exhibition: “Cyprus, Moments in Time”. A synthesis of people so similar yet so different, landscapes familiar and yet so distant. However, thankfully life reveals hope and optimism, prepares people to expect PEACE, right there at the bench, next to the central crossing point in Nicosia, the last divided European capital city.
